Aventura property owners enjoy outdoor athletic facilities available at Aventura's Founders Park, Waterways Park and
the Country Club Drive Exercise Path. In November 1998, Aventura Founders Park
was dedicated to the Founders of the City whose vision and forethought led to
the incorporation of the City of Aventura in November 1995. Centrally located in
the park is a commemorative monument. The 12-acre park is located just south of
the Lehman Causeway and east of West Country Club Drive.
Founders Park
The northern portion of Founders Park, adjacent to Hidden Bay
Condominium and Aventura Marina Condos features a staffed welcome
center, a quarter mile four-station exercise trail, age appropriate and
handicap accessible playground, four sun shelters, two clay tennis
courts and a multipurpose athletic and open space field with plenty of
room for baseball, softball, football or soccer. A pro tennis shop,
public restrooms and vending machines are also on site. There is an
admission fee for non-residents to this portion of Founders Park. For

The southern portion (bayside) of Founders Park is open and free to the
public. There are tropically landscaped walkways, a bay walk that
overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway and a beautiful open lawn area that
will be home to a newly constructed outdoor Gazebo bandstand by Summer
of 2002. This area hosts several small festivals and concerts throughout
the year. Public restrooms and vending machines are also on site. Pets
are welcome, but must be leashed and under control of the owner at all
times. Permits for the athletic field, sun shelters or special events
can be obtained through the Community Services Department.
Aventura's Founders Park programs include Adult Softball and Tennis as well as
Youth Soccer, Flag Football, T-Ball, Softball and Tennis.
Waterways Park
Waterways Park is located at NE 34th Avenue and Yacht Club Drive.
Capital improvements have begun at Waterways Park. The park will feature
a new playground, basketball court and a beautiful waterfront view.
Exercise Path
The 3-mile exercise path circling the Turnberry Isle Resort Golf Course,
Aventura Estate Homes, Delvista Condos, and Coronado Condos is
along Country Club Drive. This is a popular place to walk, run, jog,
rollerblade and bike. This ten-foot wide pathway is landscaped with an
abundance of shade trees, complete with ground lighting, benches, trash
receptacles and crosswalks. For residents with pets, convenient bags and
receptacles are available in pooper scooper boxes along the path.
